Re-Elect Ronald Schmidt May 6th!

About Ron

Meet your Town Councilman.

My wife and I arrived in Argyle seven years ago and have been proud to call it home ever since. My wonderful wife Michelle and I have been married for over 20 years, and we have a son who is a freshman in high school. He participates in band and runs the 200m in track, just like I did in my high school days. Volunteering as “prop” parents for the marching band has been a highlight of our year.

After earning my BBA in Finance from Texas State University, I went on to earn two advanced degrees from The University of Dallas: an MBA with a concentration in Corporate Finance and an MS in Accounting with a minor in Economics. I am a Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Financial Manager.

I retired from the United States Army Reserve in 2016 after 30 years of service, earning the Meritorious Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster (2nd award), and induction into the Order of Saint Barbara, a military honor society for lifetime contributions to the Field Artillery. For 18 of those years, I served as a Basic Training Instructor at Ft. Sill, Ft. Dix, and Ft. Jackson.

For the past 15 years, I have been a full-time Professor at a local college, teaching Accounting, Finance, and Business. I was program chair for 12 of those years and have taught Accounting at most universities in the metroplex, including graduate courses.

Ron Schmidt has consistently demonstrated his integrity and his commitment to serving
the Argyle community during his past 6 years on Town Council. He’s a dedicated family
man, a decorated Army veteran, and a great friend that always puts others first. Ron’s
leadership, in-depth business experience, financial expertise, and love for this
community have made him one of the most effective and impactful council members in
Argyle’s long history. During Ron’s time in office, the Town has had all-time high
revenue surpluses, reductions in the local sales tax rate 4 years in a row, and seniors
over 65/disabled persons are enjoying their highest property tax breaks ever! Ron
stands up for Argyle citizens and has a proven service record. I strongly endorse him
and ask others to join me in supporting the best candidate for Argyle Town Council
Place 2, Ron Schmidt.

I have worked alongside Ron Schmidt for the last four years on Argyle Town Council. I can honestly say there is no one who works harder or cares more about the future of this town than Ron. He has my complete confidence and support in this election.

Ron has a vision for Argyle to keep more open spaces and a rural feel. He’s also a guy who follows through on what he says. He’s an advocate for the people of Argyle, not the developers, but does recognize the need for some community and commercial development.

Don Camillo

I’ve known Ron since he came to Argyle as a neighbor and watched him as a Councilmen. He is mindful of the needs of the community, without jeopardizing our quality of life from developers and Utilities who just want to make their money and leave.

Lori Camillo

I really got to know Ron in 2017 when he ran for Council with my husband and former Mayor, Don Moser. They shared a common vision of preserving small town charm that most of us moved here for. I know he’ll grow our town responsibly with those qualities.

Terry Moser

I endorse Ron Schmidt as our next re-elected council member in place 2. Ron is a true leader working hard for our town. He was elected to the town council in 2017, and has served as chairman of the financial Oversight Committee. Ron and his family are long standing residents of Argyle, and trusted neighbors.  He takes great pride in serving our community and preserving its beauty.

Past Vice President of the Argyle Seniors Club
